Photography has always been in my blood. I picked up my first camera when I had just turned. 14 years old. At 16, I started my formal photographic training and education after being inspired and mentored by my Art Teacher at school.
Growing up on the shores of Morecambe Bay, it was a budding photographer's paradise. I was given my first Single Lens Reflex camera on my 18th Birthday and at 19, I won a place to study Commercial and Advertising Photography at the prestigious Blackpool & Fylde College of Art.
Graduating 3 years later, I headed to London where I began my first job working as an assistant to an Advertising Photographer. I followed on to work in the Ministry of Defence working as a civilian photography in a naval research department not far from Central London. I decided that I wanted to get involved in the kind of work I really enjoyed and set up my own studio in North London where I quickly created a successful business working in the Corporate, Advertising and Architectural fields.
Clients included well known names such as Virgin Games; Ford New Holland; Legal & General; Lloyds Bank as well as numerous property and construction companies.
I then decided to do something completely left field and left the UK and began work as a cruise ship photographer. Based mostly in The Caribbean, I spent many years working on some of the largest, most glamourous cruise ships in the world at the time travelling throughout North America, Europe and Scandinavia.
I returned from working at sea to restart my photography career pretty much where I had left off and set up my business near Reading in Berkshire.
As for famous names, there have been a few. Among others, I have had the pleasure of photographing Sir Richard Branson; Sir Rannulph Fiennes & the late HRH The Queen Mother. More recently, I have photographed The Queen Consort Camilla when she was still known as The Duchess of Cornwall.
Current, clients include the Historical Railways Estate; large PR agencies based in Birmingham and Manchester; National Highways; Jewsons Building Supplies giant; Network Rail and numerous property & construction companies as well as prestigious estate agents such as Savills and Knight Frank.
I am also a qualified and experienced drone photographer and videographer.
I combine my 30 odd years of experience ( by way of subject matter there isn't much that I haven't photographed), with a very flexible and adaptable attitude to my work. Always upskilling and finding new ways to create eye-catching images and video, I am tirelessly dedicated to creating stills and video images which my clients love and keep coming back for more of.
In a nutshell, being a photographer is the best job I have ever had. It still inspires me and gives me the greatest satisfaction and enjoyment I could ever wish for. It is not an exaggeration to say that every amazing; exceptional and unique experience I have ever enjoyed throughout my life I owe to my love of photography. It just doesn't get better than that.
